NODE OVERVIEW

EXP:

Controls exposure of the overall image, it is adjusted using the offset wheel. Using the offset wheel also changes overall contrast levels, I chose the use of the offset wheel specifically because you are likely to compensate for global exposure adjusments by using the “shadow” and “light” wheel. Whereas the offset wheel does that for you. If you wish to make global exposure adjustments, use the slider on the “global” wheel.

WB:

Controls the white balance of the image. The offset wheel is also used for this adjustment.

CONTRAST:

Controls overall contrast of image. The contrast silder is used.

AM LOOK:

Compound node with color science based on motion picture film properties, built upon ARRI color science. It is designed to create proper color separation (AKA tone splitting), deep color tonality with smooth rolloff, and a warm feel that creates nostalgia. Built-in preset skin qualifiers, for both dark and light tones, help achieve accurate and beautiful skin tones that give a slight boost in undertones.

Feel free to experiment and create different combinations with disabling some nodes and leaving others enabled. A deeper look into the function of each node is available in the video guide within the .ZIP folder sent upon purchase.

SAT:

Controls the saturation levels of the image. ONLY the gain wheel slider is used.

TEXTURE:

Compound node with built in filmic qualities such as halation, film grain, film blur, and vignetting. These effects can be toggled on or off depending on the overall desired look.

CAM CST:

This node converts your footage from your camera’s log profile to ARRI Log C3.

LOG C3:

This power grade was designed using ARRI Log C3 footage, to keep a uniform look for all camera profiles, the footage is first converted from your camera log profile to ARRI Log C3. The footage is then converted from ARRI Log C3 to Cineon film log.

LUT:

This power grade utilizes DaVinci Resolve’s native film print LUT’s. Within the LUT compound node, you will have the choice of choosing either the Kodak 2383 D60 LUT or the Fuji 3513DI D60 LUT.

WARM WP:

This node warms the image after the print process. Very optional depending on your desired finished look.

(This power grade does not transform poorly shot footage. While it is robust and can handle somewhat heavy white balance and exposure changes and adjustments, this quality should not be relied on and I encourage every user to expose properly to get the most out of this color grade.)
